Clyde Cash for Kids
MIF has regularly supported Clyde Cash for Kids, an independent charity in the West of Scotland who provide support at key times of the year for the most vulnerable children in the area. Our Chairperson, Lord McConnell was previously Chair of the Board of Trustees of Clyde Cash for Kids, and we have a healthy relationship with this amazing charity.
In recent years, MIF have provided direct financial support for two particular initiatives by Clyde Cash for Kids. We have supported their Mission Christmas appeal that ensures thousands of local families who otherwise have nothing over the annual festive season are able to enjoy that period. We also supported the additional programmes developed by Clyde Cash for Kids to support the most vulnerable local children during summer school holidays.

UNICEF
The McConnell International Foundation has provided support for vulnerable children through donations to UNICEF over several years.
MIF supported UNICEF in Malawi following the extensive flooding in that country in 2015.
In northern Iraq, MIF donated to UNICEF‘s education provision in 2016 and 2019. We supported increasing educational opportunities for children who were refugees from Syria or internally displaced within Iraq, including Yazidi girls and boys rescued from so-called Islamic State. These donations followed visits from our Chairperson, Lord McConnell, when he heard directly from the children about their experiences and the importance of education for their futures.
MIF has also supported the annual Soccer Aid for UNICEF which has targeted access to vaccines and other support for children. Learn more about supporting UNICEF UK here.
In early 2022, the McConnell International Foundation donated to UNICEF’s humanitarian support for children affected by the war in Ukraine.

Disasters Emergency Committee
The Disasters Emergency Committee is the body that coordinates fundraising campaigns during significant international humanitarian emergencies.The McConnell International Foundation has chosen to donate through the DEC when this has been decided by the Trustees as the best way to support children in a specific crisis.
In 2021/22 MIF donated to the DEC Appeal for humanitarian support to the people of Afghanistan, and the DEC Pakistan Appeal following the extensive flooding there. Read more about DEC appeals here.
